Inspired by a night on the town in Montreal and by sex-rock acts Goldfrapp, Diplo, Peaches, Prince and PJ Harvey, Vivek Shraya's fourth release, If We're Not Talking, was masterfully produced by L.A.-based Meghan Toohey and features a guest performance by Sara Quin of Tegan and Sara.

His previous effort, A Composite of Straight Lines, was named the #5 record of 2005 by Soul Shine Magazine, and its single, "Logic Vs.," was the winner of We Are Listening's 2005 International Singer/Songwriter Awards.

A 2002 Northern Alberta Singer/Songwriter Competition finalist, Vivek has showcased at music festivals (notably NXNE and CMW) and has appeared across North America with Tegan and Sara, Melissa Ferrick, Brian Byrne and Greg MacPherson.

"Vivek literally is the best kept secret in electronic pop music and his latest album should finally see him catapulted into the spotlight."
– Neu Magazine

"At the core of If We're Not Talking, the new release from Toronto-based Vivek Shraya, is an electro fireball about ready to explode. Perched in a position that borrows the mainstream experimentation of Justin Timberlake and the independent sensibilities of the underground electro scene, Shraya has crafted an album that wastes no time introducing him as a star for the modern age."
– #1 Hits from Another Planet

"Vivek Shraya has created a sexy ode to electropop that's loaded with catchy choruses that will make your hips shake."
– Torontoist

"This artist hails from Toronto & blends indie, dance and pop into infectious little anthems. The haunting vocals sail smoothly over the beat accompanied by twangy guitar riffs. 'Fevered' is sure to remind you of T. Rex… His music sounds like it'd be right at home on Sub Pop or K Records."

"…Vivek Shraya could easily be Canada's next major pop act. The handsome singer combines catchy electro pop with straight up lyrics and traditional songwriting sensibilities that is both sweet and crunchy. Shraya puts out the type of music that is different yet still familiar enough to please the mainstream. Even though the sound of Shraya's music has a strong electro pulse, his music is primarily driven by his soulful voice."
